Team Lewis & Clark |
|
|
Team Lewis and Clark is Team Concept's "voyage of discovery" in teambuilding and leadership development. Participants in this program will be challenged to complete a quest designed to explore the heart of what it means and what it takes to be a leader and a member of a high performance team.
Modeled after the famous 1803 journey by explorers Meriwether Lewis and William Clark, the experience will be filled with mental and physical hurdles, unexpected insights, and a new appreciation for both the natural and the human world. They will encounter a series of challenges along the way that will include fording a "river", climbing a "mountain", gathering "food" by bagging "game". The wild game might be a stuffed duck, deer or badger. The team will be "selected" for their various skills by a series of contests (such as target shooting and so forth). They will trade with native Americans along the way at trading posts and pick up much needed supplies and/or supplies that may or may not be needed to overcome some of the obstacles along the route.

Rowing is the ultimate team sport.
No one person can make the boat move.
This first step in The Blended Solution involves live seminar/experiential based learning. Catalyst and Capstone programs are templates that can be customized by the client and Team Concepts Inc. to suit specific training needs.
Rowing, the ultimate team sport, is the most powerful Catalyst Program that Team Concepts offers. Your team will be taking part in its own Regatta - including training, a race, and medal ceremony - which will become a model for the concepts to be addressed in the seminars. This approach enhances understanding and retention of those concepts, while creating a vigorous and novel learning environment. Included in the full-day program are team shirts, hats (with company logo), meeting room within Boathouse facility, snacks and beverages: water and juices, fruit, snack bars, other light snacks, Continental breakfast, boxed lunch. All team members will receive medals for the day’s achievement.
Team Concepts has assembled an accomplished staff of individuals dedicated to the Sport of Rowing. Dan Lyons, the company president is a member of the US Rowing Hall of Fame, as is Carol Bower and Ted Nash, two Team Concepts Associates. Each has represented the US in Olympic competition, and, together, they have amassed dozens of championships, including Olympic, World, and Pan Am Gold Medal victories.
Team Concepts has 20 years of experience in coaching novices, and over the last five years has specialized in training novice corporate teams not only to row in one day, but also to race. The act of rowing contains many lessons in teamwork and team building that is directly relevant to the real work place. Through the Sport of Rowing, the Team Champion Program is fun and invigorating, and it brings home skills in a totally unique way that allow employees at every level to work together towards a common goal.
**Program can include an optional catered southwest barbeque
